You were called to serve,
but you were more importantly called to be a lifelong disciple of Jesus Christ

Our Purpose

To guide returned missionaries as they transition home by using their mission as a launch point to live their most spiritually rich days ahead as lifelong disciples of Jesus Christ.

Called to Be gives returned missionaries the help they need rather than the seemingly unfruitful help they’ve been getting. Receiving guidance through their experience is more important than the trivial “right” answers that are feeling more out of reach. This course uses principles of the gospel, therapy, and transformation to help you gain clarity on your experiences, confront harmful beliefs, and create a personal vision for your future. This program fosters a sense of community where you can find support and fellowship, ensuring that you are not alone as you embark on your next spiritual journey.

Mission

To guide returned missionaries as they transition home by using their mission as a launch point to live their most spiritually rich days ahead as lifelong disciples of Jesus Christ.

Vision

For missionaries to return with purpose, fully embrace lifelong discipleship of Jesus Christ, and find peace in the greater work ahead

Value

We value faith, transformation, vision, and process over product. We value you more than your checklist.

The Story Behind Called to Be: Finding Christ when the Nametag comes off

The path to being a therapist began when I returned early from my mission in a time where if you didn’t have a physical injury, it was assumed that you had unresolved transgression. Though I originally came home due to a knee injury, I learned during that time that I was also dealing with mental illness. And even with therapy, words don’t quite convey how lonely, lost, and less I felt as a person. My church leaders did what they could, but I found no solace in the simple advice they would give to keep me active, like reading scriptures and going to church.

It was in those 9 months at home that I learned I was doing exactly what the Lord wanted me to do. It was never about the numbers, my efforts, or even my call to serve. They were important, but not the culmination of my discipleship. My call to serve was always more about who I was called to become for the rest of my life.

From that moment on, there was something I knew for certain – I can’t be the only one who has had to endure this painful process. When I decided to become a therapist, I’ve always envisioned being able to help other returned missionaries through it. There is no greater work than to embrace the spiritual giants who return from their service to the Lord.
